Itinerary

Before the trip
Digital meeting where we go through tour planning and plan our route as well as discuss equipment.

Day 1
We gather in Storulvån at 10:30 (in connection with the bus arrival). Here we review the equipment (it is possible to rent gear at Storulvån Mountain Station if needed) before heading out towards the first goal we have decided together. We go through and practice winter camping, setting up tents, cooking, melting snow, and how to stay warm.

Day 2
We continue the expedition into the mountains where the group, together, will lead according to our plan. We practice navigation and learn about avalanche knowledge including practical exercises. We find a suitable spot to set up camp just before the sun goes down.

Day 3
The day’s adventure is an exploration in the mountains, and along the way we learn about emergency bivouacs and build different types. We discuss mountain weather and gain knowledge in first aid. We may stay at the same camp as the night before and do today’s tour with a daypack to move into slightly more advanced terrain. We also dig into the snow to learn about different layers and snow crystals.

Day 4
We pack up our camp and head back to where we started in Storulvån, where we finish with a Q/A at the mountain station in front of the fireplace with a warm cup of chocolate. Then we wrap up the adventure so that everyone has time to catch the bus back to Duved.

We plan to cover approximately 15 km per day.

Please note that the program may be adjusted due to weather conditions.
