21 March, 2027—28 March, 2027
€2050Your First Haute Route – A True Ski Touring Adventure in the Alps
Dreaming of doing a Haute Route – but looking for a version that actually feels achievable?
This is your way in.
Together with an IFMGA-certified mountain guide, we’ll take you on a ski touring traverse through the Alps, where the focus is on the experience, progression and the joy of skiing – not on pushing your limits.
We travel between mountain huts, surrounded by glaciers and towering peaks – just like on the classic Haute Routes.
The difference?
- Shorter ascents
- More forgiving terrain
- More time to enjoy the skiing
This is a carefully designed week where every day is planned to give you a sense of flow, confidence and truly memorable experiences on skis.
Throughout the week, you’ll develop your skills in:
- tour planning and route selection
- navigation in alpine terrain
- off-piste skiing and technique
- efficient ski touring techniques
Everything is integrated into the days – not as theory, but as a natural part of the adventure.
This trip is for you if you:
- Are confident skiing red runs
- Are curious about ski touring and off-piste skiing
- Want to experience your first Haute Route in a supportive environment
You don’t need to be an expert – that’s what we’re here for.
You can easily travel directly to Innsbruck by train with Snälltåget – a sustainable and comfortable way to start your adventure right from home.

Itinerary
Day 1
Travel and arrival in Innsbruck. You’ll stay at a hotel in Innsbruck, with check-in available from 3 pm. In the evening, there will be a briefing with our guide, followed by a group dinner for those who wish to join.
Day 2
We meet in the hotel reception at 7:00 am to depart for Ischgl. Before leaving, we’ll check that everyone has all the necessary equipment and distribute any loan equipment, such as harnesses, crampons, ice axes and avalanche safety gear.
Once in Ischgl, we’ll start with an avalanche safety session and enjoy a couple of runs near the lift system before heading to Heidelberg Hut, where we’ll spend the night.
Tour to Heidelberg Hut: +300 m / −760 m, approx. 3–5 hours.
Day 3
From Heidelberg Hut, we climb up and out of the valley towards Kronenjoch. This pass provides access to the upper section of the Breites Wasser valley, where we’ll ski down to reach Jamtal Hut. If conditions are favourable, we may also climb Breite Krone (3,097 m) along the way.
An alternative route to Jamtal Hut is via Zahnjoch, which is shorter and more direct than Kronenjoch, making it a better option in poor visibility.
Tour to Jamtal Hut: +800 m / −900 m, approx. 5–6 hours.
Day 4
A chance to enjoy a day of skiing with a lighter pack!
There are many excellent day tours from Jamtal Hut, offering a variety of options depending on the current snow and weather conditions.
Hintere Jamspitze is one of our favourites. Located at the head of the Jamtal Glacier, the ascent follows a long, sweeping traverse up to Jamjoch Col. From the pass, a short final scramble up the rocks leads to the summit and magnificent views.
The descent is just as rewarding, offering a long and enjoyable run all the way back to the hut.
Day tour: +1,000 m / −1,000 m, approx. 5 hours.
Day 5
A day spent mostly in glaciated terrain. From Jamtal Hut, we ascend the Jamtal Glacier before a final short, steep climb takes us to Ochsenscharte Col (2,913 m).
This is a spectacular spot in the middle of a beautiful landscape. On the other side of the pass, the Vermunt Glacier offers a fantastic north-west-facing descent to Wiesbadener Hut, where we’ll spend the night.
There are a few crevasses on the glacier, so we’ll need to stay alert and choose our line carefully.
Tour to Wiesbadener Hut: +800 m / −750 m, approx. 4–5 hours.
Day 6
There are many excellent day tours above Wiesbadener Hut, so we’ll choose a suitable objective based on the prevailing snow and weather conditions.
Buinlucke and Fuorcla Cunfin are both great options in outstanding glaciated terrain.
These two passes allow us to dip a toe into Switzerland before enjoying a fantastic north-facing glacier descent back to the hut.
Day tour: +800 m / −800 m, approx. 4–5 hours.
Day 7
We finish the week with a tour down to Galtür.
From the hut, a relatively short ascent of around 300 m takes us up to Rauhkopfscharte, which leads to the top of a long, north-facing valley – Bieltal.
This is our descent route, offering excellent skiing all the way down to the valley floor, just below the Silvretta Dam.
From here, a groomed track leads back to Galtür, involving some skating and poling.
+300 m / −1,100 m, approx. 3–4 hours.
Once we arrive in Galtür, transport will take us back to Innsbruck, where we’ll check into a hotel for the night.
Day 8
Check-out and departure.
Please note that the programme may be subject to change.
